FASD

Using film to increase understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

New Planet Film & Media has worked alongside FASD Awareness to produce films that educate, inform and inspire. Together, we have created documentaries, educational resources, awareness campaigns, conference films and science communication designed to increase understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) among families, professionals, educators, healthcare workers and the wider public.

Every project has shared a common goal: to tell authentic stories, communicate complex ideas with clarity and help improve outcomes for people living with FASD.

Understanding the science behind FASD is essential to improving diagnosis, support and public awareness. This film explains the neurological impact of prenatal alcohol exposure using clear visual storytelling designed for professionals, educators and families alike.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a lifelong condition caused by prenatal alcohol exposure. It can affect learning, memory, attention, emotional regulation, communication and everyday life in many different ways. Although it is one of the most common neurodevelopmental conditions, awareness and understanding remain limited.

Through our collaboration with FASD Awareness, we have helped communicate the science behind FASD while also sharing the experiences of individuals, families and professionals working to improve recognition, diagnosis and support.
